The pursuit of slim designs
To keep devices as slim and light as possible, manufacturers have to weigh features against functionality when producing a truly rugged computer. Integrating a physical barcode scanner to a really slim designed device can therefore be a struggle if other features have been prioritized.
But, there are solutions if you want to be able to scan barcodes without having an integrated physical barcode scanner on your device.
Scanning with the camera
