Waste Expo 2017

Waste Expo 2017 was held in New Orleans, Louisiana in early May with over 12,000 attendees and 620 exhibitors. As usual, the exhibit hall was filled with all kinds of waste and recycling machinery and technology. So much to see!

This year we had many inquiries about how our devices can help companies comply with the new Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rule which is set to take effect later this year. The ELD Rule requires drivers to keep electronic driver logs and “is intended to help create a safer work environment for drivers, and make it easier, faster to accurately track, manage, and share records of duty status (RODS) data.”

“All the companies large and small are increasingly embracing the utilization of new tech tools, and more recently big data usage, in an industry which was never known as a technological innovator. Most view the advent of greater technological innovation in the industry as an enhancer—traditional route optimization programs have been augmented by on-board cameras and connectivity, while the sales/pricing function has been honed by increasingly sophisticated and mobile tools.” – WASTE360
