MilDef strengthens its European presence with the acquisition of Roda

Swedish defense company MilDef recently announced its acquisition of Roda Computer GmbH, a well-established German provider of military-grade IT systems. This strategic move further cements MilDef´s position as a global industry leader in tactical and rugged computing. With a strong foothold in the DACH region and an impressive portfolio, Roda complements MilDef well and provides the company with an even broader product offering.

Introducing Roda Computer GmbH

Established in 1987 and headquartered in Lichtenau, Germany, Roda Computer GmbH has built a reputation as a reliable supplier of rugged IT equipment. Their solutions are tailored to meet the tough demands of military and defense organizations. Rodas’s product portfolio ranges from rugged laptops and tablets to specialized power and display solutions.

Roda has a history of collaboration with MilDef as the two companies have maintained reseller agreements. For several years, Roda has supplied customers with MilDef´s rugged laptops and tablets as well as their portfolio of 19”/2 hardware and special electronics.

Roda expands MilDef’s reach and capabilities

With this acquisition, MilDef solidifies its position as a leading player in Central Europe’s growing defense market. The DACH region has seen increased defense spending in response to evolving security challenges, providing the company with further growth opportunities. Through Westek Technologies, which is a part of Roda, MilDef also gains ties to the UK as well as Westeks portfolio of rugged IT equipment and peripherals. 

Roda’s established customer base and framework agreements give MilDef immediate access to key markets. Additionally, it makes for a safer Europe as more countries gain access to advanced electronics solutions.
