This December, the team “Wight Lightning” will attempt to row 3000 miles non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. They are competing against international crews in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, the world’s toughest row.
“The Atlantic Ocean is an extreme environment to live in for 50-90 days; forty foot waves, strong winds and rain make the boat a very wet place to be! Electronics typically fail from degradation caused by salty air and water. The crew therefore rely on rugged tech such as their Algiz 10X to do anything from writing blog posts to strategising routes using weather and charting software.”
