New volume slider and screen rotation in Android P
To disable you from accidentally bringing your ringtone volume up or down when pushing the volume buttons, Android P will by default change the media volume instead of the ringtone volume. The placement of the volume controls will be vertical and located on the side of the screen.
With the new operating system, we’ll also be seeing a new feature for the automatic rotation feature. Instead of simply rotating when turning your phone horizontally, you will see an icon allowing you to decide whether the screen should rotate or not.
